Food Bank Day at the Tanana Valley State Fair

Thanks Fairbanks for Keeping the Bright Lights on at the Food Bank!

Jack Wilbur
On Thursday, August 7th many generous Fairbanksans attended Food Bank Day at the Tanana Valley State Fair and donated food to help feed the hungry. A small army of hardworking volunteers also came to help us collect the donations and transport them to the Food Bank.

This year we collected 800 banana boxes of food totaling 55,300 pounds!  At the end of the day we had 5 TONS more than last year's record-breaking event.  This is THE single largest canned food drive in the history of the food bank.
