These Grandparents are passing on the joy of giving!

My day had a delightful interuption when a grandmother came in asking about giving her family a tour of the Food Bank.  Gloria and her husband Bill Vorkink are from Utah and are going home tonight.  Before they left they wanted to show their grandkids the joy of sharing with their community.

After spending about 1/2 an hour walking around the Food Bank learning who we serve and why we are here, Yvette, Rachel, Hannah, Emma, Abby, and Bradley Birkholz (pictured below) went with their mother and grandparents to the grocery store.

This delighful family brought back 69 pounds of some of the food items we are lowest on at this time - dried goods!

I love days like this.  Families who learn about caring for their community together always brighten my day.  Many thanks to Bill & Gloria for bringing their family in to the Fairbanks Community Food Bank.
