Different Ways to Give

Fairbanks Community Food Bank has been here since 1982, formed in a Recession so that no local family will go to bed hungry in the Tanana Valley. We have continuously operated since that time, through thick and thin. Our business plan is a challenge. We receive free food and give it away free. That is not revenue generating, but the best thing our first board of directors did in 1982 was to remind all of us that we are a COMMUNITY food bank. Our community has always provided the three things we need: enough cash to operate a large(donated) warehouse, donated food and volunteer time. Each day we need 15 to 30 different volunteers to salvage and process 2-5 tons of local surplus food and get it back out into food boxes for those who need it TODAY. We know we are a COMMUNITY asset, a valuable part of the local health and social services network, and we would like our work to continue for at least another 37 years, so we ask you to consider an investment of 5% for the Fairbanks COMMUNITY Food Bank as you do your Estate planning for the future.
