H.E.L.P. for our Neighbors in Need

(Health Education Learning Project)

H.E.L.P. is a pilot partnership started with the Alaska Health Fair, Literacy Council of Alaska and the Fairbanks Community Food Bank.  The purpose is to improve the health of Tanana Valley neighbors through health education and the availabilty of healthy fresh foods for those who are medically referred into the program. 

Up to 30 pounds of fresh produce per person each week is provided to the people who enroll in the program: 

  • Seniors who are 60 years old and older and who meet income guidelines 
  • Local people of any age who are medically referred into the program-(please call Pam in the Food Bank USDA office at 907-374-0555 to talk about those guidelines)

The program is volunteer operated and located on the second floor of the Fairbanks Community Food Bank building-725 26th Avenue, Fairbanks
